Sabbath Intercession

This  is my prayer on behalf pastors who practice regular sabbath rest 
in the face of competing tensions of ministry busyness and unending needs.

Lord, I admit I’m fumbly with intercession.

I’m not sure how to do it or how it even works?

But my heart wants to help,

and my will wants to engage fully.

To seek, trust, call up and send out.

So on a day with competing tensions,

I ask you to join my friend, brother, my sister,

colleague and pastor in special way.

Do what you do on behalf of another today…

seek

find

fill

soothe

comfort

renew

protect

be with.

Sneak past any defenses,

drip into any secret places,

displace any darkness,

dissolve any dissonance,

and bring Kingdom to parched places.

Delight, sweetness and joy…

Anointing, humility and surrender…

Trust, protection and provision…

Simplicity, clarity and grace…

Beautiful Trinity, you know what is needed…

not my words, but your will be done.
